Garza Blanca Preserve in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is proud to announce the completion of its latest ecological project to protect the picturesque Garza Blanca Beach with a breathtaking new breakwater feature. Construction of the beach jetty was completed last month in time for the summer vacations, which will see thousands of tourists arrive to Puerto Vallarta, the city voted as Mexico’s friendliest.
A Breakwater with a Difference in Puerto Vallarta
The advantage of the new naturally looking breakwater is that the beach at Garza Blanca is protected from high tides and swells that might otherwise affect the beach from time to time. However, the true advantage for guests is that it forms a beautiful natural pool of seawater, providing calm waters for children to swim in and a smoother playground for learning to paddleboard and snorkel. More importantly, the activities team and guests have already reported an increase in marine life when snorkeling just meters from the beachfront, making for magical underwater explorations in a safe environment.
Ecologically Sound
The design of the jetty has been subject to close consultation with local ecological groups and marine architects to ensure minimal impact on the environment and the greatest benefit to the beach and its marine life. Not only will the breakwater protect the sand and the beach but it will also provide a hospitable habitat for life under the sea as a beautiful man-made reef.
